Call to Papers - Fénix #3
Fénix is currently preparing a special issue on The Feminine in Fantastic literature.
From the female stereotypes (so usual in high fantasy) to the low number of women writing Science Fiction - not forgetting some current international discussions regarding women in awards and SFF convention panels (as mentioned by Emily Asher-Perrin here) - we're interested in your points of view, no matter which side of the fence you are on.
We already have great contributions to this issue, but we're looking for more.
Do you have an opinion on why there are so few women writing SF? Tell us about it.
Do you have a favourite female character or author? Share with us why you like them (or, if it's a villain, tell us what you hate about her).
Women: goddesses, witches, mad scientists, professional killers in the future or a parallel universe - tell us their story.
Short stories, essays, opinion articles - send them, we're open.
Submissions must be sent as a document in any universal format (.doc, .rtf, .txt) with no particular formatting (if you prefer, you may check this link). Texts between 2,000 and 10,000 words are welcome, but we will not reject a shorter story just because of the size.
Please send your submissions to ez.fenix@gmail.com before July 1st.
Free your imagination... and be fantastic ;)
